Discover the photographic collections of the City of Paris with Paris en Images. Our website offers free access to over 120,000 images from the Roger-Viollet archive as well as the collections of the City of Paris' museum and libraries.
Most pictures on our site are also available for sale as mounted or framed prints.
- In the “Collections Gallery”, search, view, enlarge, share or order prints from a selection of over 50,000 photographs.
- “The story behind the Pictures” takes you for a guided tour of the collections through thematic portfolios about Parisian celebrities, places, events or photographers, or about the daily or artistic life in the City of Lights.
- “In the Streets” invites you to a stroll in early 20th Century Paris. Select a district (arrondissement) on the map and visit its neighborhoods.
- “Buy a print” explains how to order prints, available for most of the pictures presented on our site.
Paris en Images is managed by Parisienne de Photographie, a public local company of the City of Paris to digitization and management of the reproduction rights of its iconographic and photographic heritage. The collections include images from various Parisian museums & public libraries, as well as other cultural institutions including the Roger-Viollet archive.
