The Paris en images site has been designed in compliance with W3C Web standards, WAI accessibility standards and Accessiweb guidelines. The site takes each user’s needs into account as much as possible.
Les pages contenant des animations Flash ont été systémiquement doublées d’une version HTML. Ces versions sont accessibles via un bouton « Accessibilité ».
BROWSER COMPATIBILITY
The site is compatible with Microsoft Explorer 5.5 and above, Firefox Mozilla 1 and above, Apple Safari 1.2 and Netscape 6.2 for PC and Mac.
BROWSING
The «Paris en images» logo is in the upper left-hand corner of each page. Click on the logo to return to the home page.
The horizontal menu has five buttons for the various sections:
1/ “News”: click on this button to open the “News” page.
2/ “Collections gallery”: click on this button to open the “Collections Gallery” page, which includes a search engine, access to featured collections (Jacques Boyer, Studio Liptnizki, Patrick Ullman, Gaston Paris, Pierre Jahan), access to the Blogger page, where users can download Paris en images Flash banners and access the wallpaper downloading page.
3/ “The story behind the pictures”: click on this button to open a menu offering access to three subentries:
• « An event in pictures »
• « The history of a collection »
• « A neighbourhood in pictures »
These subentries have an “Accessibility” version that you’ll find by clicking on the “Accessibility” button on the bottom of each page.
4/ “In the streets”: click on this button to open a menu offering access to two subentries:
• « Paris walks »
• « Once upon a time in my neighbourhood » : this page features a selection of pictures of all 20 arrondissements in Paris. It exists in accessibility version, which you’ll find by clicking on the “Accessibility” button at the top of the page.
5/ “The education observatory”: this page introduces you to a teaching project launched with a 4th-year primary school class at Julien Lacroix school in the 20th arrondissement of Paris.
In the lower part of the site, a menu lets you access additional information and resources:
• « Search for a picture » : type in a key word to start a picture search from all the site’s pages.
• « Accessibility » : this page gives information on the site’s accessibility version.
• « Paris in pictures » : this page gives information on the Paris en images project and indicates the different partners.
• « The terms of use for the pictures » : this page gives the terms of use of the pictures available on the Paris en Images site.
• « Helpful links » : this page gives a list of links to partner sites and institutions supporting the Paris en Images project.
• « Site map » : this page gives the site map, letting you directly access the sections of your choice.
